This month I had a curious case, which I found very interesting and thought it might be fun to share. It is the story of a group of souls incarnating together throughout the cycles of lives and karma.
My client, let’s call her Sarah, booked an Akashic records reading with me. She wanted to know if she and her son have met each other in a past life. “Yes,” was the answer of the masters and teachers of the Akashic records. They proceeded to explain that in 99% of the cases any significant person in your life does have a past with you. Usually either our souls made a conscious contract to reincarnate again together, or the karmic wheel forced us to do it (i.e., we were pulled by the immutable karmic laws of the universe; it’s like gravity—no point to argue with it, it just works the way it does). In the case of Sarah, she and her son did know each other from a past life and for this current life they took the conscious decision to reincarnate together. In their past life they were a man and a woman in love, but due to society restrictions they couldn’t marry and be together, so their love was unfulfilled. Thus, their souls decided this time to be born as a child and a parent—a relationship that is undeniable and unbreakable. They wanted to make sure no one separates them this time. So, they followed up on that plan. But this led to some issues. In the past life they were equals; in the current life the young man had to listen to what his mother was telling him, which created some rebellious situations. The mom on her turn didn’t feel like her son was giving her the attention she wanted from him. The two needed to redesign their current relationship. The masters and teachers helped Sarah cut the cords to her past life and made her understand that her son has his own life and wife now and if Sarah wants him to be happy (which, of course, she does), she needs to take a step back and make herself happy, instead of expecting him to fill the void for her. It is weird how old unresolved lives get mixed up with our current life. We are a team of actors, playing different plays on stage, but if one actor starts saying the lines from a former play… the whole performance gets messed up. We need to cut the ties to the past and get clear on our role and purpose in the current moment.
After we clarified the situation with her son, Sarah wanted to know if she and her mother also knew each other from a past life. She said that her mom was never strong enough and Sarah had to take care of her. Sarah had also a younger sister that she also took care of… way into their adulthood, always helping with advice and money. And as a “thank you” her sister stopped talking to her several years ago and they were no longer in contact. The masters and teachers said again: “Yes”. In fact, both the mother and the sister were part of Sarah’s soul group that keeps on reincarnating together life after life. They try out different roles and scenarios to learn different lessons, while being among friends. Sarah’s lesson for her current lifetime was to learn to receive love, help, and support—to learn to let go of the control and to allow to be taken care of. Did she do it? Well, definitely not at first. She was the strong one, the fighter, the one who always had everything under control and took care of everyone else. Nobody asked her to do it, she just did it because it was natural to her. But she despised it. She did want to throw it all away and to live in peace, ease, and harmony. The thing that is difficult for you to achieve is the skill you came to master. If it were easy for you, it would mean you have already mastered it. In comparison—what Sarah’s mom needed to learn in this life was… to be in control. She also struggled with her lesson. The masters and teachers told Sarah that her mom had already learned this lesson, so her mission is accomplished, but… she is already 91 years old, i.e. it did take her a while and things didn’t really work according to plan. The plan was that the mom will gather herself up and will be the strong person she wanted to be. But… the young woman failed to do that as a young parent, which messed up the plans a bit. Sarah had resentment and disappointment in her heart. The masters and teachers told her that it is normal that she feels disappointment—after all, things didn’t work as they were originally planned, but also… they told her that it is normal that some of the players not always perform as planned. They remined her that she herself hasn’t always done things as fast as she could or as she had hoped and urged her to have compassion for her mother. When the masters and teachers told us of Sarahs’ sisters’s lesson, I had to laugh. It was all so beautifully arranged. I am always amazed at the perfection of life and of spirit. Sarah’s sister’s task was to learn to live on her own, to stand on her two feet, to come into her own strength and power. And what did she do? She cut her ties to her always helping and saving sister… because she couldn’t learn to be strong, while there was somebody else there being strong for her. Sarah had complained that her mom loved her sister more or at least that’s how Sarah perceived the constant attention her sister was getting from their mother. But… that is exactly how the karmic roles work—the sister needs to learn to be strong on her own, so to make it challenging she is receiving a lot of help; Sarah needs to learn to receive help… and to make it challenging, she is not getting it by default—she needs to explicitly ask for it. The three women had been incarnating for a long time together, in different combinations, learning different skills—one time one was the mom, the next time the other, or they were best friends, or close co-workers.
The situation was similar with Sarah’s dad. In a past life they were a couple. In the current one they were father and daughter. There was a old connection from a past life, too.
It was so beautiful to see the dance of the souls in Sarah’s life. She was surrounded by friends, by souls she knew from so many other past incarnations. In this current life they just had another go at the shuffling of the roles. Once we see things from this perspective it is much easier for us to forgive and let go, to laugh and love, to accept and bless. And once all lessons are learned and all grudges are resolved, the karmic dance will end and these souls will part ways and will find another challenge to enjoy, and grow, and explore the universe. The dance continues.
